Katrina Kaif What Is Behind Salman Asin Rivalry?

While Asin claims to be having cordial relationship with Salman Khan, media is abuzz the news of their friendship turning sour. During the shooting of ‘London Dreams' the chemistry that the on-screen couple shared had become the talk of the town. But recently Salman Khan has been spotted ignoring the actress to the core.

So much so that the eternal bad-boy of Bollywood even refused to acknowledge her presence at a press conference held for the promotion of their flick. Avoiding the actress, Salman walked away from the interview leaving Asin all alone to face media persons.

The reason for Salman ignoring Asin is because their friendship was under constant scrutiny of the media, leading to rumours of a link-up, which was affecting his relationship with Katrina Kaif.

According to a source, "Asin reached the studio at 1pm as scheduled. Salman was unwell as the previous day, he had been to Kolkata where he contracted an allergy. His face was swollen and he had a runny nose. Hence, he was not very comfortable doing the interviews and requested the media guys to reschedule it, but continued to chat with them.

Asin was aware that the joint interviews won’t happen, but she refused to move. It was evident that she wanted to meet Salman. She came over from Studio no. 5 to Studio no. 6 to sit beside Salman.

To everyone’s surprise there, Salman did not even greet her. In fact, he completely ignored her. She sat there for sometime but Salman simply refused to speak to her. Then he got up and left. Asin had no option but to leave after that. She was left wondering what went wrong between the two ‘friends’."

The news has been denied by Asin who said that they are traveling together and attending the premiere in the same limo.

Salman Khan's Big Fan?

Two days after the tepid response to the latest Salman starrer Main Aurr Mrs Khanna its shell-shocked debutant director Prem R. Soni was bracing himself to be written off as one-film wannabe-wonder.

Salman Khan restored Prem’s trust in his abilities when on Sunday night at a private family gathering, he embraced the shaken director and announced, “No matter what people say about Khanna you are doing our next film.”

Relieved beyond belief Prem Soni is now a bigger Salman fan than ever before. “The way Main Aurr Mrs Khanna has been received I thought no one would want to touch me with a bargepole. So many announcements go down the drain if the first film doesn’t work.”

Relieved, Soni is still bewildered by the savage response to his maiden effort. “It was almost as if we made the worst film on this earth. I could smell the resentment against the film.There was definitely an attempt to write it off on the day of release.”

Salman who had just delivered a grand hit in Wanted showed his full faith in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna.

Says the director, “He completely believed in my film and his character. But since he was already so visible for Wanted we decided to go easy on the publicity for Mrs Khanna. We were wrong. This was a different Salman and a different film. Not that aggressive promotion helps. But aggressive anti-publicity surely damaged my film.”

Whatever the response to the film at home Main Aurr Mrs Khanna has been warmly received in Australia where the film is set and where a number of prominent Hindi films have been lately shot.

Says Prem Soni, “Melbourne is not just a location in my film. It’s one of the characters in the plot.Has anyone commented on how hard we worked on getting the locations right? Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is the first Indian film to be shot on an international airport. When I wrote my script a major part of drama was situated on an international airport.”

Salman, Sohail and Soni were very clear on the fact that they wanted to shoot on an international airport. “We didn’t wanto to erect a set depicting an airport. A set looks like a set no matter how authentic.

I made contact with the authorities at several airports. We had the choice of shooting on the airport in three cities Geneva, New York and Melbourne. We chose Melbourne because after much discussion they offered us the best deal.”

And shooting on the bustling international airport in Melbourne was allowed absolutely free of cost. “Can you imagine?All we were told was to shoot in the nights when the air traffic was less dense.

We paid nothing and we got complete and free acess to shoot in the most restricted areas on the airport. We shot in an area past the immigration, so any of us could take an unauthorized flight to any part of the world.

But all of us Kareena, Salman, Sohail, Yash Tonk, Nauheed Cyrusi and Bappi Lahiri, were very careful of our responsibility. We had been given a huge privilege and a diplomatic immunity. It wasn’t just us. It was India’s reputation at stake.”

Sighs Soni, “Has anyone noticed that Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is the only film to be shot on an airport since Steven Spielberg’s The Terminal? It’s so easy and so much fun to be clever at a film’s expense.”

Is Salman Really Not A Bad Boy

How did London Dreams happen?
I was still shooting for Ghajini but Vipul had seen some of my South Indian films. So I got a call from him and he said he had a role of a headstrong talented girl in his next directorial venture after Namastey London.

Obviously I was excited at the sound of it! (laughs) I love Vipul’s cinema, he showcases emotions really well and his films always have strong music. So it was actually a no-brainer that I wanted to be a part of this project immediately on hearing its script. In a way, this is my first authentic Bollywood film even though Ghajini released first.

That's because I had already played Kalpana in the south version of Ghajini before doing the Hindi remake with Aamir (Khan).

Tell us the experience of working with Vipul Shah!
Fabulous! Vipul is very organized, he does his homework really well so when you reach the sets the shot break downs are done, he knows exactly how he wants the scene done. And I am a complete Director’s actor.

It’s important for me to understand my director’s vision and in that sense Vipul is very giving. I’ve been spoilt by him because now I think I will always want all shoots to be as planned! (Smiles)

Tell us something about your character in London Dreams?
I play a south Indian girl, Priya, who is emotional but strong willed and ambitious at the same time. And she has two radically different sides to her.

At home she’s a traditional girl clad in Indian outfits but the minute she’s out with friends, she’s a fire brand, and that shows in the way she dresses. And she’s also partly responsible for the conflict between Salman and Ajay’s characters. So it was a wholesome character to play.

This is the first time you’re working with big names like Salman Khan & Ajay Devgn. What was that like?
When I came on to the sets of London Dreams I didn’t know them. I knew they were way senior and was anxious just like any newcomer would understandably be.

And then I'd heard so much about them from different people. Salman has a ‘bad boy’ image. Many told me that he was very temperamental and erratic! Having worked with him I dispelled all those myths. I got to see a sensitive actor who had an absolute ball on the sets and went out of his way to make everyone comfortable.

Both Ajay & Salman are also great offscreen friends and that shows on celluloid. Ajay, contrary to popular belief, was not reticent at all. He was very helpful and friendly!

I realised that you find out the truth about people only when you work with them and get to know them better.

Tell us about the music of London Dreams!
Oh! There’s so much that I can say! (smiles) London Dreams has a backdrop of a rock band so it’s only right that the music should be an arterial part of the film. And I think that Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy have done complete justice to the film in that sense.

The music is melodious but remains true to the essence of the film. It’s a very holistic album - there’s the masti of Punjab and the edge of contemporary music. I personally love Man Ko Ati Bhaave and Tapke Masti; they’re fun songs!

Everyone is waiting for London Dreams with bated breath. Tell us why we should watch it?
It's an absolutely stunning looking commercial entertainer with emotions, humour, music and drama! It's a big one for the families!

We had a blast shooting it in the UK and I took back some really fond memories with me. The fantastic time we had on the sets and the chemistry between all of us will show on screen!

Salman Replaced Sanjay In Big B?

Salman Khan is all set to reprise Big B's role from Raj N Sippy's 1982multi-starrer Satte Pe Satta. Sohail Khan who is planning to produce it is currently in the process of buying the rights for the film.

Sohail confirms to a daily, "Yes, I am in talks with Mr Raj and Romu Sippy and we are working on acquiring the rights of Satte Pe Satta. We have talked and also met regarding that. Satte Pe Satta is one of my favorite films and was a neat, clean family entertainer. I am very excited about it though it will take another 10 days to finalise everything."

Talking about the cast Sohail says, "Despite it being a multi-starrer, Bachchan was the only lead; the others were supporting cast. Here, too, it will be the same. Salman will be essaying a double role - the characters of Ravi and Babu." So, Sohail will also be one of the other six brothers?

"No, I have decided that I will opt out of this one as an actor. Producing Satte Pe Satta will be a mammoth task. We will have to look for seven actors, seven actresses and then the villains. It will be a huge film. We will be signing on friends and people we have worked with for the rest of the cast as we need to be comfortable with the people we work with."

When asked if David Dhawan was helming the remake, he says cautiously, "Nothing has been finalised at the moment."

Salman Khan Wants Only The New Girls Now

The most 'Wanted' man of the moment has decided to become a star-maker. We hear that Bollwood's bad boy has told his friends and producers that he will now work mostly with newcomers and not established actors.

Sources suggest that Salman has realized that he doesn`t need a brilliant leading lady to shoulder a film; hence most of his forthcoming films, Veer’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Most Wanted’ (the sequel to Wanted) and Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Sanki', have newcomers instead of established ones.

But producers are not complaining at all. According to Boney Kapoor (the producer of Wanted), “Once you have Salman on board, it doesn't matter who comes on afterwards.”

Strangely most of Salman's films with established heroines like Salaam-E-Ishq and God Tussi Great Ho (both with Priyanka Chopra), Jann-E-Man, Heroes (with Preity Zinta), Kareena Kapoor (Kyun Ki) and Katrina Kaif (Hello, Yuvraaj) have flopped, whereas films with new or less mainstream heroines like Tera Naam (Bhumika Chawla), Lucky (Sneha Ullal) and Wanted (Ayesha Takia) have clicked.

Aamir Khan Left Behind The Salman Khan?

He is in showbiz for more than two decades, yet Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was nervous before his ramp debut for Salman Khan's "Being Human" show at the ongoing HDIL India Couture Week. He said he wanted to go back home.

"I was extremely nervous because I have never done it before. I am not used to doing all this. This is not my world. But I did it just for my friend Salman and to support the cause, " Aamir told reporters Tuesday after the show.

"When I was rehearsing, the show area was empty still I was nervous. I thought that when I'm nervous now, what will happen when I will walk the ramp in front of the audiences. And I thought I should go back home, " he added.

Before starting the walk, the actor stood on the ramp for a second, looked around, smiled at everyone, took a deep breath and very shyly started walking maintaining eye-contact with the audience and acknowledging their cheers.

Despite his nervousness, he charmed everyone with his boyish looks and cute smile.

Once he got over the initial inhibitions, Aamir entertained people by dancing with the kids who had initially done a small jig at the beginning of the show.

Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif, Arbaaz Khan, Salman Khan and Sohail Khan too walked the ramp.

Other than Aamir, Ajay Devgn too made his ramp debut and he was also very scared before walking down the ramp. Actress Amisha Patel, who was there to support the cause, told that the nervousness of these actors was very evident, as they had never walked the ramp before. But it was good to see them all come together for a good cause.

Another shy actor and Salman's good friend Sunny Deol too was supposed to make his ramp debut.

"He was here but he is very shy. He didn't know that he had to walk the ramp. As soon as I told him, he hid somewhere, " said Salman jokingly.

"He was telling me behind the ramp that he would be there, " he added.

Katrina Kaif's Love Got Painted?

If this isn’t true love, what is? For the Couture week in Mumbai on Tuesday night, Katrina Kaif who flew in from Bhopal to Mumbai for a day just to be part of the event, walked the ramp in a dress that Salman had hand-painted

The face on the fabric was of a saint.

Katrina had no idea what was in store for her when she arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday morning. “I knew a lot of Salman’s guy colleagues like Aamir and Ajay were walking the ramp. I also knew I was the only woman to walk for him. But I didn’t know what I was going to wear.”

On arrival in the morning Salman showed the black-and-white fabric painted with the saint’s face. Katrina was completely dazed.

Salman had never before painted a dress for anyone.

Trying to contain her excitement Katrina said, “Within hours in the morning Shane and Falguni Peacock took my measurement and stitched the dress for me. It’s got an amazing feel flow and look to it. Almost surreal. I feel different wearing it. I can hardly wait to walk the ramp in it, and that too when I’m the only girl walking the ramp for Salman.”

Katrina says the dress is a work of designed delight.

“It’s a work of art, ” she said appreciatively.

The dresss specially created by Salman for Katrina proves just how serious Salman is about her.

His other girlfriends can go eat their heart out. Salman has never done it for any of them.

And he never will.

Salman Khan Overstayed In Industry?

How would you describe 2009, as far as you were concerned, career-wise?
2009 has proved to be a good year for me since my last film before Main Aurr Mrs Khanna- Wanted has clicked in a big way. The films which I have signed recently are the ones which I really wanted to do. I believed that all of them would do well, whether it was Wanted, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna or Veer or London dreams.

Why do you think Wanted clicked in a big way?
Wanted was a film which wanted a hero. It was an entirely different genre of action film. It worked because it projected the kind of a hero who was lost in the 70’s with who the audiences could identify themselves with and easily relate to.

Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is actually a lesson in romance. It is about the fact that a husband is possessive, suspicious and narrow minded unless and until he is a gay. It is the way the younger generation perceives romance in a cool way.

Were you not scared about your teaming with Kareena since Kyonki had bombed?
Kareena’s magic is her spontaneity. She is looking fabulous in the film. So what if Kyonki in which we had been paired the last time did not work?

I knew that the film would not work even when I was doing the film but Priyadarshan was not willing to listen to me and asked me to just trust him. It was a depressing film, not an emotional film like Tere Naam, though both of them were remakes of South Indian films.

What is Main Aurr Mrs Khanna about?
Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is different from Wanted. Main Aurr Mrs Khanna sets out to drive home the message subtly that one should not get married if one does not wish to remain loyal and the credit for making a marriage work as well as the gaali go entirely to the girl.

Which are your best as well as worst films?
I have acted in 67 films till date, though I was under the impression that I may have acted in over a hundred films. My best films have been films which have created history at the box office.

Like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Karan Arjun, Sanam Bewafa, Partner and now Wanted. If you ask me the films which I want to forget, here’s the list. They are Nischay, Jagruti, God Tussi Great Ho and two films of Sawan Kumar- Chandramukhi and Chand Ka Tukada.

Why do you think some films of yours did not do well?
You start a film with the eight intentions but then somewhere it goes awry at times when the producers do not want to spend as they had planned initially when they launched the film and your film goes for a toss.

Why are you averse to watching the original films when you set out to act in their remakes?
I do not make it a point to watch the original Tamil or Telugu versions of the Hindi films which I set out to do because I do not want to be subconsciously influenced by the acting style of the regional actors. I saw parts of the original Telugu version of Wanted in which Mahesh Babu had acted and not Pokkiri the Tamil version in which Vijay had acted.

You seem to take up films with both veteran as well as new directors. Why?
If I have acted with a new director like Prabhu Deva in Wanted or Prem R Soni in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, I am now also acting with a war horse like Anil Sharma in Veer.

Both new as well as veteran directors have their own plus as well as minus points. When I heard Prem R. Soni’s script, I realized that it has been written coolly, eschewing any kind of melodrama.

Prem is competent director to watch out! Anil’s forte is lavishness. His shot taking also is excellent and is good at emotional scenes. However, I have to take care that his film dos not look like a 70’s film, because he belongs to the old school.

There is this allegation that you do not plan things!
Yes. I admit I have never planned my career. I have done films at times even out of emotions without thinking about the pros and cons of doing them. I have never ever had any kind of strategy or approach when I decided to take up a film.

Isn’t it scary to compete with two more releases on Diwali?
Yes. I admit it is very scary when I realize that my films like Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, London Dreams and Veer are awaiting almost back to back releases this year, one after them other, but I am not unduly worried because I play different characters in all the films.

If Main Aurr Mrs Khanna is a romantic comedy, London Dream is a youth oriented musical while Veer is an out and out period caper.

You do not seem to be too keen on doing any art film!
I am sure about one thing. That is I do not want to preach as an actor. I am here to entertain. I do not want to do art films which bore the audiences to death. I want to give back to my fans, who have made me a big star by doing meaningful films which entertain them.

How happy are you with the way your career ahs shaped till date?
I couldn’t have asked for more from God. I came around the time when Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt had come into the industry. I think frankly I have overstayed in the industry thanks to my fans and producers, by about ten years.

Preity Zinta Cheers For Salman Khan Wow

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta played the role of a perfect cheerleader for dear friend Salman Khan whose "Being Human" show at the ongoing HDIL India Couture Week here late Tuesday saw many celebrities strutting down the ramp.

Dressed in a "Being Human" sleeveless T-shirt and sporting a new look with fringes falling perfectly on her forehead, the actress looked as ravishing as ever.

Sitting with her friend choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan and fashion designer Manish Malhotra, the actress started shouting from the very first moment when Salman Khan started the show and sashayed down the ramp.

"Wow! Salman! Salman!," shouted Zinta and continued clapping till he left the ramp.

It was not just for Salman, she also cheered for other celebrities like Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan with equal enthusiasm.

Farah Khan and Manish Malhotra joined her and together left no stone unturned to pep up the atmosphere.

"I must tell you that my throat is already gone. I was so happy that all this shouting and cheering just happened. The show was all about being human and being together. It celebrated togetherness of the industry and this is what had me do all the shouting. But it is worth it," Preity told after the show.

Commenting on Aamir Khan's ramp debut, she said that the actor looked cute.

"I think he was looking very cute on the ramp. He is already so charming and you can't take that away from him," she said.

I Love You Meri Jaan, Salman Told To His Boyfriend?

Azad Ansari is a fan of Bollywood star Salman Khan. But not just another fan - he dresses up like a woman in salwaar kameez, earrings and the works, and firmly believes that he is the superstar's "girlfriend".

Ansari, a resident of Padao town in the Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, some 300 km from Lucknow, has been living like a "girlfriend" of Salman Khan for the last 12 years and dreams of getting married to the Bollywood actor.

Ansari now wears salwaar kameez with a dupatta over his head, dons earrings, colourful bangles, a nose ring and applies lipstick and eye-liner to show his "commitment" towards the star.

"I am in deep love with Salman. He is my life...For him (Salman) only, I changed myself completely. I can do anything for him," Ansari, 38, told over phone.

"I don't wish to have anything from Allah...I only want the almighty to bless me so that I can marry Salman and start a new life," he added.

Ansari left his parents and his wife to live his life as Salman Khan's "girlfriend".

"They (parents and wife) had problems with me and my relationship with Salman. I tried to pacify them, but when I realised they would not let me fulfil my aspiration of marrying Salman, I had no option but to leave them," Ansari said.

For the last eight years, Ansari has been living alone in Padao town of Chandauli district.

What Ansari claims to be "love" started as a crush on the actor.

"It all started when I along with some of my friends watched Salman's movie 'Maine Pyar Kiya' in one of the talkies. Gradually, after seeing some more movies of the actor, I realised that I had some special feelings for Salman," Ansari said.

"When I told my friends about my feelings, they laughed at me and asked me to forget Salman as I would not be able to meet him in this life. Unaware of the deep affection I had in my heart for Salman, my friends treated me as a laughing-stock. But that has not made me change and what was affection subsequently transformed into love."

Ansari is even ready to opt for a sex change, provided Salman promises to marry him.

"If I can live like his girlfriend, I will have no hesitation in going in for a surgery to change my sex. The moment Salman assures me of marriage, I will opt for the surgery."

Ansari, who makes his livelihood from the rent he gets from his parents' house, claims that he has written over 1,000 letters to Salman and the actor responded to one of them with "I love you jaan".

"I poured my heart into all the letters. I tried to explain to Salman about the love I have for him... Sallu replied once and wrote 'I love you jaan' in his letter," said Ansari, who has become a topic of discussion in the entire town.

Residents of the town say they were taken by surprise when they came to know about Ansari's eccentric behaviour.

"Initially, we were taken aback when we heard that Ansari decks up like a woman for Salman. I remember, first time I saw Ansari in woman's attire in the marketplace it was unbelievable for me," Mitlesh Dubey, who runs a grocery store in the village, told.

Kalim Ahmad, who has a tailoring shop in the town, said: "Initially, we thought Ansari was joking, but when we realised the fact we were quite surprised."

Ajay Revealed Salman's Secrets At Dus Ka Dum Finale

Dus Ka Dum is all set to end this week and to grace the finale episode; Ajay Devgan and Fardeen Khan will be present with the host and dost Salman Khan. The two actors are here to promote their upcoming flick All The Best.

“Ajay and Fardeen had lots of fun on the sets of DKD with Salman. As well all know Ajay is a big prankster and thus he revealed some secrets to our host while making the film All The Best, ” chirps the source from the sets.

Fradeen too bonded well with Salman. “They had a gala time and lots of fun while playing the game. Ajay was in fun mood and cracked few jokes too while Fardeen gave him support, ” adds the source.

“Salman, Fardeen and Ajay gigged on the melodious number of the film and left no stone unturned to promote it in huge manner, ” concludes the source.

Shahrukh Won Round One of Khan's Battle

Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan were battling it out to make it to walk the ramp on the grand finale of the HDIL Couture Week. Shahrukh is now officially going to be part of the grand finale, not Salman.

Shahrukh will be walking the ramp with wife, Gauri, for Karan Johar’s line while Salman will walk for his charity clothesline, Being Human. Even though Salman roped in Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, he still didn’t get the finale. His event will be on October 13th.

Meanwhile Salman’s endorsement manager and the couture week event organizer, Reshma Shetty says that Salman didn’t want the finale. His is a charity event so the other actors too had been booked for October 13th. And Salman won’t be in Mumbai on the day of the finale.

Salman Khan Rescued Kareena Kapoor?

So far we’ve only heard horror stories of Salman’s misbehaviour with his leading and misleading ladies. But Kareena Kapoor has a different story to tell.

Says Kareena, "Salman has always been very protective. He has been there for me whenever I needed him. That’s partly to do with the fact that my sister Karisma is very close friends with Salman and also his favourite co-star."

Every time Kareena shoots with Salman she feels super-protected and safe. Just how caring a co-star this Khan can be was proven to Kareena recent when they were shooting a romantic song on the Phi Phi Beach in Thailand for his home production Main Aur Mrs Khanna.

This was the same location where Danny Boyle had shot The Beach with Leonardo di Caprio. The beach, as anyone who’s been there, is no sandy but pebbled.

And Kareena had to go barefeet into the water with Salman. But before she could reach even half-way she cut her foot in a sharp pebble rather badly.

Says a source, “Kareena doubled up in pain and almost fell to the ground. Salman reflexively reached for her and swooped her into his arms. And he carried her to the water.”

The shot has been retained in the film, although it was never meant to be part of the film.

Says the director Prem Soni, “Throughout the shooting you could see the special bonding that they had. But that day on the Phi Phi island it got really special. We came much further into the land from the sea than we imagined.

When it was time to go back we realized we had to walk through the pebbled beach and wade into almost head-deep water before reaching our boat. We had to do it. Otherwise we’d have to spend the night on the beach without food or water.

Kareena was in this long gown and barefoot. She was in pain. Before we knew it he swooped her into his arms and carried her into a boat. It was a very romantic-looking moment and we couldn’t let it go.”

Asin Told Negative Stories About Salman Khan?

Asin Thottumkal was told horror stories about Salman Khan when she signed "London Dreams" opposite him. But all the misgivings were sorted out once she started shooting with him, Asin says and stresses that all negative stories about the superstar are "cooked up".

"Really, it was all so strange because even before reporting for the film's shoot, there was this particular notion being built in my mind around Salman.

"See, we all know about Aamir Khan being so disciplined. So once I signed 'London Dreams' with Salman, various kinds of stories started coming my way. People commented that 'Aah, you have worked with Aamir; now see what it is to be with Salman', " Asin told.

But the actress didn't face any problems throughout the making of "London Dreams".

"It is nothing less than a case study of its own. I can slice and dice a dozen-odd instances when it was proved time and again that Salman was nothing like he was being made out to be.

"I have absolutely no clue how negative stories about him keep emerging out of nowhere. As I look at them today, I believe these are all someone's cooked up imaginations, " said Asin.

Other than the fact that Salman contributed to the scheduled completion of the film, he too didn't allow his personal problems to come in the way of "London Dreams".

"Let me begin with the misconception of Salman being not punctual. Our first schedule took place abroad and it was wrapped up many days in advance. This means that it was a disciplined shoot and everyone including Salman was punctual. There was absolutely no tardiness on his part and he was always on time, " she said.

She also narrated the incident when Salman's dog died.

"Everyone knows that Salman is so close to his dog. Even when his dog died, he didn't call to cancel the shoot for that day. Instead, he turned up for the shoot in Karjat. It would have been even more difficult since he had to shoot for a happy and rejoicing song, " Asin said.

Even in front of the camera, she didn't face any issues working with Salman. Just like Aamir, Salman too just went ahead with his part and didn't interfere in the way Asin wanted to approach her scenes.

"Whether it was Aamir in 'Ghajini' or Salman in 'London Dreams', I didn't have to make any changes to adapt to their working style. They made me feel really comfortable. I was free to do things the way I wanted to because Aamir is very chilled out and he goes about his own job without interfering.

"Same is true with Salman. He doesn't come to you and tell you how you should be approaching your character. That is why it was so cool working in 'London Dreams'. I am still surprised at why people have negative things to say about Salman, " Asin said.

Releasing Oct 30, "London Dreams" is about a band comprising Salman, Ajay Devgan, Asin, Rannvijay Singh and Adithya Roy Kapoor. Asin plays the role of a dancer in the film.

Salman, Ajay Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge?

Both Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have their individual movie releases in the coming weeks but Vipul Shah's magnum opus London Dreams will see the two stars reuniting on the big screen after a decade!

Last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's smash hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999, Ajay and Salman never got cast together till London Dreams, in which they play music aficionados in a London-based rock band.

Clarifies Vipul, "I never cast them because I wanted to repeat the Hum Dil... magic. In fact it didn't even occur to me that the two hadn't been together in a film since.

I wanted Ajay for his intensity and Salman for his madness and after I cast them someone pointed out the casting coup of sorts!

In fact, not many know that Salman and Ajay are great friends in real life and have immense respect for each other. They aren't very overt about it but they share amazing vibes and that will be visible on screen in London Dreams."

Salman and Kareena Is On Top Of World

There is already a lot of buzz surrounding UTV and Sohail Khan Production’s Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. The movie is said to have been shot extensively in Australia.

A source said that, “The production team wanted to shoot in one of Australia’s leading hotel Realto and that too in the 125th floor.

Usually the Australian government doesn’t allow such film shootings to take place in the hotel, but when they found out that it was none other than Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor who were going to shoot there they readily agreed for the same.”

“Salman and Kareena have a huge fan following down under. There were huge crowds gathered at the shoot locations, so much so, that sometimes they required added security to control the crowds, ” added another source.

A unit member said, “The view from the 125th floor was breathtaking and overlooked nearly the whole of Melbourne. Most of the romantic scenes between Salman and Kareena have been shot here since the location was important to the scene.”

Salman's Dog Chased Himesh Reshammiya Up The Wall

Salman Khan is a changed man these days. He is happy, content and most importantly in a mood to forgive… Who would have imagined that Himesh Reshammiya would make it as a celebrity guest on 10 Ka Dum?

But the unimaginable has happened. Himesh came, he sang, and they bonded. The two talked about events nostalgically.

Salman recalled how Himesh is so passionate about his craft that he has woken him up in the middle of the night to discuss a song, or his immense talent that he can compose a song on the spur of the moment. Himesh even gave a live demo of it. It happens only on 10 Ka Dum.

Salman was all praise for the musician and his talent other than his singing, which incidentally no longer sounds nasal. Salman says that Himesh can climb a 20 feet wall like nobody else– he did that when chased by Salman’s late dog Myson! So much so that he sat on the wall and was too frightened to come down.

He came down only when Salman turned up to save the situation. Himesh on his part said he owed his success to Salman. Salman did not fail to remind him that he was right about all the songs he predicted would be hits. Himesh conceded happily.

Salman Khan Will Gets His Friends Back

It's Salman Khan time in Bollywood. With his full-on actioner "Wanted" becoming a hit, the superstar has millions of rupees riding on his shoulders with three more big-budget films lined up. And all his friends in the industry - from David Dhawan to Vipul Shah - are rejoicing at the actor's success.

"Wanted" earned about Rs.38 crore (Rs.380 million) across the country in its first week and industry experts feel that the film's good business will help Salman's forthcoming releases - "Main aur Mrs. Khanna", "London Dreams" and "Veer".

"Salman always knew when and where to strike. He was always very confident about 'Wanted' and this is the reason why he went all out to promote the film," Dhawan, who has worked with Salman in more than half a dozen films, told.

"Forget first weekend collections; it was sheer havoc when Eid festivities began. Audience response inside auditoriums was unprecedented," he added.

Directed by Prabhu Deva, "Wanted" was a raw action-drama comparable to Aamir Khan's "Ghajini".

"Salman may have done one or two bad films in recent times due to which it appeared to some that he was no more in the reckoning. They were mistaken though because he is beyond hits and flops," said Abbas Burmawalla of director duo Abbas-Mustan.

"His strong fan base could sense from a distance that 'Wanted' was a film to watch out for and turned it into such a huge success," he added.

Salman's "Yuvvraaj" and "God Tussi Great Ho" bombed at the box office and many believed he was down and out. But the industry doesn't quite believe so.

" 'Wanted' is Salman's one-man show. Yes, everyone involved with the film has done a fabulous job, but it is Salman's pull that got the audiences into theatres. Otherwise director Prabhu Deva was making his first Hindi film while Ayesha Takia isn't amongst the top three heroines that we have today," said Sanjay Kapoor, brother of Boney Kapoor who produced "Wanted".

"He gave 'Wanted' his full support and led the entire promotional campaign. He was supremely excited about the film and gave his heart, body, soul and time to its making followed by promotion," he added.

Vipul Shah, who has worked with Salman in the film "London Dreams" that releases Oct 30, is happy that Salman's three-film stint this year has got off to a good start with "Wanted".

"My promotion plan though is not as expensive as that of 'Wanted'.

We are going right ahead in creating awareness around 'London Dreams', but the spillover of 'Wanted' should also help our campaign. Since 'Wanted' is all over, I am sure the euphoria and Salman's presence amongst audiences will continue for many more weeks to come," said Shah.

Filmmaker Suneel Darshan, who has never worked with Salman, is a little guarded before declaring this as a golden run of the actor.

" 'Wanted' has done quite well in India but its fate in the overseas market has been contradictory. With crores of rupees riding on his shoulders in the current season on 'Veer', 'London Dreams' and 'Main aur Mrs. Khanna', all due to release shortly, god forbid if anything goes wrong, it will have severe repercussions on the industry's economy. This is just another interesting phase for Salman...," he said.

Himesh Reshammiya, with whom Salman has had a decade-long association, has a final word though. "Salman was a superstar, is a superstar and will always remain a superstar."

Salman & Katrina's Affair Is Over?

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have shocked people with their coldness towards each other at Percept Picture Company’s party recently. The party, which was thrown to celebrate Kanchivaram’s National Award, win on Tuesday night was attended by both Salman and Katrina.

But they came in separately, spent time with different groups of people. Even though they came face-to-face, they didn’t interact with each other. They were at the party for around an hour and left alone.

People who saw them at the party are now thinking if the two are even together anymore.

Katrina was a gracious host at Salman’s Id party a few days ago but he ignored her completely.

Salman Khan Sucker For Soccer

Salman Khan will be in Kolkata for a friendly match to mingle with the top soccer teams of the city - East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.

It's part of the promotions of Salman-starrer Wanted, that released last week. Producer Boney Kapoor confirms, "Salman will be in Kolkata on September 26 for a friendly soccer match to be played between Kolkata's top teams. It will be called The Wanted Cup and Salman will lead the teams on to the field and will work out with them."

Of first times
This is also the first time Khan will be in Kolkata during Durga Puja - which is a huge festival there. He is looking forward to the experience. Boney adds, "Salman has a huge fan following in West Bengal.

Though he's been there for shootings, this is the first time that he's going to promote a film there. The whole team of Wanted, including Prabhudheva (the film's director) and the cast members, will also be there to cheer the teams."

The match will be held at one of Kolkata's biggest sports stadiums - the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium.

Venue shifted
Initially, the match was to be held in the Salt Lake Stadium but now it has been shifted to the RSS because of security reasons. Salman will be interacting with his fans and the media at the event. Khan had earlier been roped in as the brand ambassador of Indian football by the All India Football Federation to promote the game in the country.
