Kanthaswamy (Tamil:கந்தசாமி) is a forthcoming Tamil feature film currently being directed by Susi Ganesan, who with Kanthaswamy will direct his fourth film.

Vikram acts in the lead role, whilst Shriya Saran, Krishna, Raghuvaran and Vivek also play roles in the film. The film, which has been under production since mid 2007, has Devi Sri Prasad as the music composer. Upon the conclusion of post-production, the film will be subsequently dubbed into Telugu as Mallana and simultaneously released with the original.
The film, produced by Kalaipuli International, is set to be released in the summer of 2008, despite the trailer stating that it will release coinciding with Tamil New Year(already passed).
The film, initially described as a "hilarious comedy", was rumoured to be a remake of the Hollywood cult hit, The Breakfast Club, however Susi Ganesan has claimed that the film has a more Robin Hood feel to it.

Shriya Saran born 11 September 1982 began her career in music videos while attending activing studio to follow her dream to be in movies. Her debut film Ishtam in 2001. But audience noticed her when she played Bhanu in Santhosham (Telugu, 2002). Santhosham was a major hit. She appeared in several Telugu films with all big actors. At the same time, she was trying her luck and making in-roads in Bollywood and Tamil film industry. In 2007 Sivaji: the Boss happened. This put her on the national level as Shriya played heroin with south Superstar Rajinikanth. Sivaji: the Boss is super duper hit. Following this she has signed films in Bollywood, Kollywood and also a Hollywood film. Her other films are Tagore (2003), Azhagiya Tamil Magam (2007).
Shirya got into a controversy when a Hindu organization from Chennai lodged a complaint against her. They objected to her outfit she were wearing during the 175 th day celebration of Shvaji. The organization alleged that Shriya's dress code had offended Hindu culture. Shriya has already apologized for wearing inappropriate and skimpy cloths. Similar cases still pending for three other actors, Kushboo, Shilpa Shetty and Reema Sen.
Shriya Saran was born in Haridwar and moved to Delhi and as she wanted to learn kathak from guru Shovana Narayan. She was rumored have dated Rajiv Madhavan, which she denied. Currently she is in a relationship with Jesse Metcalfe. Jesse Metcalfe is a co-actor for one of her English movies.
Besides two English films, Shriya can be seen in a Tamil called Jaggubhai.
